5 Capitals has worked in Oman for over 10 years and have undertaken environmental & social impact assessments for several water and power projects of national importance, including Ibri II IPP, the first utility scale renewable energy project developed by OPWP, Barka Reverse Osmosis expansions Phase 1 & 2, Salalah 2 Independent Power Plant, Salalah Independent Water Plant, Ibri IPP, Sohar 3 IPP. Our experience also includes environmental & social auditing at the Mussendam IPP during the construction phase.

Due to the extensive land take at the Ibri II IPP, 5 Capitals has also worked carefully with local figureheads and stakeholders to ensure appropriate handling of herders on the land, as well as the measures required to ensure successful resettlement; a process expected to the one of the first in Oman for an independent project.

Previously registered as a MECA consultant in Oman, 5 Capitals now works closely in association with Yahya Engineering (a Muscat based firm who are MECA registered) under an MoU.
